About Us
It all began about 4 years ago in a little house in the countryside of Elon, NC. As we liked to say "We have a beautiful garden around the house that feels like a farm in our hearts" The Farm Fairy is a family dream.

We had always dreamed of a farm with chickens roaming in the green pasture, bees buzzing around the flowers, a cow mooing in the neighbor's farm, the sweet, fresh and tangy smell of herbs after the rain on a hot summer night and zillions of tomatoes, red peppers, squashes and cucumbers ready for a salad right from our garden. We had our vegetable garden, our flock of layers running freely to catch that juicy worm, our honeybees flying around the herb garden filling the air with the aromas of mint, rosemary, thyme, sage, catnip, oregano and basil. We didn't and still don't have acres of land, we don't have the cozy farmhouse we always wanted but the dream is still alive and we know at heart that sooner or later it will come true.
Today, we found ourselves jumping over the city limits sign, we have a busy road at front but a beautiful, breathtaking view of our never ending backyard with a pine forest at the very back, an old time orchard, gorgeous grapevines, majestic pecans trees, our beehives as sentinels of the garden and everything ready to plant for the fall garden.
The herbs are potted and waiting their turn to be planted in the Herb Garden that is taking shape.
We wonder that now that we change to city life…have we become City Farmers?
I found the answer in a beautiful book titled "Micro Eco-Farming" Prospering from Backyard to Small Acreage in Partnership with the Earth by Barbara Berst Adams. In the book "Micro-Eco Farm" defines the new sustainable local mini farms from urban greenhouses to backyard gardens to small rural 1 to 25 acres parcels.
So, here we are, in our "Micro Eco-Farm, in Burlington, North Carolina, and we love the idea to be called micro eco-farmers.
